1. All
requests for funding and volunteer services are accepted only in writing.
2. As a general matter, requests for funds or
services will be approved, first, for projects, activities and support, which
benefit the most individuals for the greatest length of time.
3. The major emphasis of Kiwanis service, nation-wide is “Young
Children.” The West Seattle club has
focused its emphasis in the area of education.
4. Requests must include: Name of
the firm, agency, institution or individual making the request, including the
street address, city, state, contact phone, we require a detailed description
of the project, activity or charitable purpose for which the request is made,
who will benefit, how many will benefit how long they will benefit. We must have the name of the person who is
responsible for maintaining communication with our office, including his or her
street address, city, state, zip, contact phone, Fax number and E-Mail Address.
5. As general rule, requests will be referred to the appropriate club
committee, which will put it before the Board of Directors with a
recommendation. The process will require
from six to ten weeks.
6. If your charity is organized as a non-profit corporation under chapter
501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, please include a copy of your
exemption letter. We need to know if your organization is registered as a
for-profit or not-for-profit corporation with a copy of your registration
certificate and tax number.
